The Opportunity
Three Nurse Manager of Emergency Department positions are open across a 630-bed-plus acute care health system on the Texas Gulf Coast. This is a multi-site leadership opportunity with real scope — you would oversee ED operations, clinical outcomes, and FTE teams at full-service acute care hospitals and a freestanding emergency center. If you are a clinician ready to lead and measure success by the quality of care your team delivers, this role is worth your full attention.
Three positions are available. Two are day-shift roles at acute care hospitals, Monday through Friday with schedule flexibility. The third is an evening-shift position at a freestanding ER, also Monday through Friday with flexibility. Each site carries distinct leadership responsibility, overseeing between 9 and 15 FTEs depending on location. Relocation assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis.
Compensation is competitive and based on experience. Benefits include comprehensive medical coverage with many common services at low or no out-of-pocket cost, prescription drug and behavioral health plans, free telemedicine, and free emergency medical transport. A 401(k) with a 100% employer match, education assistance covering tuition and student loan support, paid family leave, and a generous time-off program reflect a long-term investment in both career and personal wellbeing. An Employee Health Assistance Fund extends free coverage to full-time and part-time colleagues based on income.
Candidates must hold an active RN license and a BSN. A minimum of two years of recent acute care Emergency Department leadership is required — strong charge nurse experience in a high-volume ED will also be considered. BLS is required at hire. ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of start, and ENPC, PALS, and TNCC within six months. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification is required within 60 days of start.

The Package
Why Corpus Christi?
Corpus Christi stretches along the Coastal Bend of South Texas, where the Gulf of Mexico sets the backdrop and the pace of daily life. The city sits across a natural harbor and a string of barrier islands, putting beaches, open bays, and Gulf water within minutes of most neighborhoods. Wind and warmth are constants here — kite surfing, fishing, sailing, and paddleboarding are not weekend escapes, they are part of the routine. The Padre Island National Seashore, one of the longest undeveloped barrier islands in the world, begins at the edge of the metro area. The climate is mild through winter and sun-heavy through most of the year, a quiet draw for anyone ready to leave cold seasons behind.
The city is large enough to deliver real amenities — a growing restaurant and arts scene, a strong regional airport with direct routes to major hubs, and a well-established healthcare and education infrastructure — while staying small enough that commutes remain manageable and neighborhoods stay connected. Housing costs hold well below national averages, and Texas carries no state income tax, which meaningfully extends what you take home each month. Families will find a solid range of school options, including magnet and private programs, and a metro population near 340,000 that supports genuine community without the density of a major city. For a healthcare professional looking to put down roots somewhere with outdoor access, affordability, and a real quality of life, Corpus Christi is an easy case to make.
